Marked locations on the surface can be subsequently recorded using Topographic Survey methods and overlaid onto an existing survey drawing or OS Tile to provide a mapped representation of the pipe route with approximate depths where obtainable. Electromagnetic Probing presents a cost-effective remote mapping method within small, shallow pipelines. However, its reliability diminishes within increased asset diameter, depth or close proximity of adjacent utility infrastructure. More advanced mapping techniques should therefore be considered in these instances or if the client wishes to further enhance accuracy to reduce tolerance, mitigate risk and maximise development value.
